Current Openings

Luminaire Events are a rapidly growing event production business based in Earslfield, SW London. We provide a bespoke full-production package for a wide range of corporate and private events at high profile venues across the UK. This includes the provision of technical equipment, production, design, crewing and logistics.

We have two vacancies on our small but rapidly growing team:

Contract Type: Full Time
Location: South West London

This hands-on role takes responsibility for the delivery and management of key projects of the company. The role ensures the profitable and efficient design and delivery a wide range of high profile live events. The role involves:

  • Hands-on Project Management of full-service productions and projects. Including the coordination, pre-production, systems design and delivery of a broad range of projects within the live events sector.
  • Efficiently respond to enquiries from the company’s clients and to handle and develop customer relationships.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as Project Manager in all areas of delivering a project; to include calculating technical specifications, equipment, crew schedules, power specification, transport requirements, etc. This project handling will be practically, administratively and commercially.
  • Handle enquiries for full-service production clients. Process client requests and issue quotations / proposals for services efficiently. 
  • Act as point of contact for client in the event of any changes or additional requests throughout the project.
  • Identify and locate potential projects and sales opportunities for the company, feeding information back to the managing director.
  • Attend production and site meetings as required and undertake client visits and site visits, as directed and under own initiative.
  • On-site, oversee equipment and crew on-site and act as representative of the company, to the client. 

Skills Required:

  • Good communications / interpersonal skills.
  • Good management skills and ability to lead and coordinate a team.
  • Commercially astute. Good understanding of profitability, margin protection, cost control and basic accounting practices. 
  • Ability to manage a situation and effectively deal with both junior and senior colleagues.
  • Good working knowledge of full range of current lighting, audio, video &rigging equipment and practices.
  • Strong IT knowledge.
  • Eloquent.  Able to write a proposal and express an idea or concept to a client or industry partner, either written or verbal.
  • Numerate.  Able to use spread sheets and IT to monitor budgets, profit margins etc. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast developing company.
  • Full driving licence and own transport desirable .

  • Providing crewing, installation, engineering and production services on-site, in the delivery of the company’s event, audio, lighting and technical production projects. 
  • Acting as a representative of the company and point of contact for its customer, within an event production crew, on a range of events and productions.
  • Providing pre-production, systems design, equipment preparation, at the Company’s offices / warehouse, for a broad range of projects. 

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as technical crew on-site in all aspects of the delivery and operation of the Company’s projects.  
  • Assisting company team in required areas of delivering a project; to include calculating technical specifications, equipment, crew schedules, power specification, transport requirements, etc. 
  • Create equipment specifications and/or specify equipment lists from technical drawings.
  • Working in an assistant / support role to the company’s Directors or freelance project crew working with the Company. 
  • Create audio, lighting, video and staging specifications and specify equipment lists from client briefs etc, sourcing relevant production details from the customer, monitoring and follow up.
  • As directed, assist and arrange equipment prep stage of a project within company’s warehouse facilities, to match clients requirements. Undertake completion of the show prep process and oversee successful delivery of equipment orders.
  • Oversee equipment and crew on-site. Liaise with the customer and source all relevant production details (in particular identifying exceptional requirements) and communicate these to the crew, sub-contractors and Project Managers, in a timely manner.
  • Attend production and site meetings as required.
  • Assist with the servicing, preparation, cleaning and packaging of the company’s rental equipment, within the company’s warehouse.   
  • Loading and unloading of equipment from vehicles.   The role involves an element of manual handling of bulky and heavy technical equipment.
  • Act as primary point of contact for customer, on-site, on specific projects. Handle and resolve customer queries and requests and represent the company and on-site team in a proactive, courteous and professional manner.

Skills Required:

  • Good communications / interpersonal skills. This role is truly a “public face” of the company, to the customer. Ability to represent the company and its reputation in an impeccable manner.
  • Good working knowledge of full range of current audio and lighting equipment and practices.
  • Working knowledge of video and rigging systems and terminology an advantage.
  • Strong IT knowledge.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast developing company.
  • Full driving licence, own transport and passport required.
  • Ability to travel within UK & Europe, often at short notice.

This role involves two primary areas of activity:

  • Working within the company’s warehouse, assisting in the preparation, servicing, testing, cleaning and packaging of the company’s technical and event equipment. 
  • Driving the company’s vehicles to deliver and collect goods & equipment from various suppliers and venue sites. This will include the loading and unloading of equipment, and also maintaining the company’s vehicles in a clean and presentable condition at all times and acting as a public face of the business to its customers.

Skills & Qualities Required:

  • Good communications / interpersonal skills. Fluent speaker of English language.
  • For vehicle insurance purposes, all applicants must be aged 21 or over.
  • Full UK Driving Licence, to include category B (cars and vehicles up to 3500kg). It would be a distinct advantage to also hold licence entitlement for category C1 (goods vehicles 3500kg to 7500kg).
  • No major driving offences / disqualifications / convictions at any time.
  • Clean driving licence preferred. Maximum of 3 penalty points on licence for minor offences only.
  • Forklift licence would be an advantage.
  • Flexible and adaptable.  Able to respond to short-notice changes in working hours and schedules.
  • Practical ability in the use of hand tools and test equipment. 
  • Basic IT knowledge with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word / Outlook etc.
  • Numerate.  Basic maths skills and arithmetic required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast-developing company. 
  • The ability to work as a member of a team and to provide and receive input from other team members is vital.

Owing to the nature of the live events industry, there will be a requirement to work outside of standard working hours, often in the evenings and at weekends.
